 About the role

  • 37.5 hours per week based in Balclutha
  • Deliver the Family Centre Service to foster wellbeing/mauri ora for whānau who have experienced or are at risk of experiencing family violence
  • Help whānau become safe places to be and restore whānau safety and wellbeing/mauri ora where violence has occurred 
  • Help whānau make their own decisions, draw on strengths within the whānau, and chart their course for their future by delivering effective, holistic, culturally appropriate, and responsive services
  • Salary range $49,115 - $63,963 pa. commensurate with skills and experience

About you 

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in social work or a related field 
  • Substantial experience working in the area of family violence
  • An understanding of Care and Protection principles and the Oranga Tamariki Act 1989
  • Good knowledge of community resources and an ability to develop networks
  • Proven experience in engaging with Māori and Pasifika communities
  • Experience working with whānau who need support with complex and often stressful situations
  • Sound computer and database skills
  • Current driver licence
