Anglican Family Care is a social services agency that has served the people of Dunedin and Otago since 1970. Our main office is based in Dunedin. The rural offices are based in Balclutha, Ōamaru, Alexandra, and Wānaka.
Our main focus is tamariki, rangatahi and their whānau, but we also provide services that support individuals in need.
Our services are for all people regardless of beliefs because we respect the values and beliefs of the Anglican Church, especially “To respond to human needs by loving service".
We are looking for a volunteer board member to join our skills-based board.
We are seeking ideally with not-for-profit governance experience, and experience in at least one of the following areas:
Ideally, you would have a health, social services, and/or business background. The above list of skills is not all-inclusive, and other skills may be considered as appropriate. Ideally, the Board will exhibit the diversity of the population within its geographical region (gender, balance, age, ethnicity etc).
To be effective in the role, candidates need to have a broad perspective, good communication skills, be able to actively contribute to the board, and be an ambassador for Anglican Family Care. In addition, candidates will need to have an appreciation of the not-for-profit sector and the agency’s values.
You need to commit to the time required for monthly board meetings as well as preparation time. The board meets on the 4th Thursday of every month from 12.30 – 2 pm in Dunedin.
If this sounds like the ideal governance role for you, please contact the Anglican Family Care Centre Board’s Chair, Diana Hudson via Diana@FamilyCare.org.nz
