Leave a Gift in Your Will

For over 50 years, Anglican Family Care (AFC) has empowered Otago whānau facing adversity. Each year, we support over 2,500 tamariki and their families struggling with violence, addiction, mental health issues, and poverty.

Leaving a gift to AFC in your Will directly transforms these tamariki's lives. Your generosity provides free, early intervention support, building strong, healthy whānau where tamariki feel safe and loved.

Leaving a lasting legacy is simple.  Talk to your lawyer about including AFC in your Will. Choose a fixed amount, a percentage of your estate, or a residual bequest. With your help, we continue to offer vital services to Otago's most vulnerable tamariki.

Leave a Gift in Your Will FAQs

What if I'd rather prioritise my own whānau?

We understand, and leaving a gift is entirely your decision to make. An option you could consider if this is something you'd like to do is to make a residual bequest, in which you gift the amount left over from your estate once you have provided for loved ones.

I already have a will, is it too late to update it?

If you already have a will, your lawyer can write up a simple amendment. If you do not have a lawyer, you can find one through the New Zealand Law Society.

Does the gift have to be monetary?

Of course not! You could chose to bequest anything you think could benefit young whānau, such as toys, clothing, home goods and more. Your bequest could also include assets or shares rather than an amount of money itself.
