Anglican Family Care is very grateful to have received a $1,000 grant from Network Waitaki
The community grant from Network Waitaki will enable Anglican Family Care to provide specialised training for two North Otago Family Start whanau workers to ensure they are equipped to provide the intensive and early intervention social work their local clients need.
Director Nicola Taylor said, “This grant will help provide vital training for our North Otago staff as they work with local children and their families. It is great to see local businesses supporting the needs of a community in this way.”
Anglican Family Care is a social services agency that has served the people of Otago since 1970 by providing a range of professional home-based services and programmes to children, young people and families who are living in challenging situations such as family violence, abuse, neglect, isolation, health problems or addiction.
The Family Start programme aims to support vulnerable pregnant mums and parents of young babies to learn about the health, welfare, safety and development of their child, and has been shown to be very effective.
