How long have you been with Anglican Family Care and what’s your background in?

I am a trained ECE teacher and worked in the industry for 17 years, both teaching and in admin/support roles. In June 2023 I moved in the direction of Admin and started working at AFC.

What inspired you to pursue a career in social work/family care?

I have always felt I have a strength and passion in regard to the skills required to work in administration such as organization, time management and working with people. I was drawn to AFC because of the amazing work they do in our community supporting children and Whānau and I wanted to be a part of it.

What do you find most rewarding about your work?

I feel privileged to be a part of an organization where people are the focus of its work, and where the team is so supportive of each other. It’s so rewarding to know that the work this agency does has such a positive impact on Tamariki and Whānau within our community.

What do you get up to outside of work? What hobbies or activities do you enjoy doing?

I am a Mum to 2 daughters aged 6 and 2. As a family we enjoy going on holidays, camping and biking. I am currently developing my passion and knowledge around growing our own fruit and vegetables and gardening I also enjoy crafting and creating which is an interest shared by my daughters.
