The Prime Minister's announcement last night on Alert Level 4 lockdown measures taken to minimise the impact of the COVID-19 Delta variant has had immediate impact on our communities, and the work of Anglican Family Care.

All Anglican Family Care staff from our sites in Dunedin, Alexandra, Wanaka, Balclutha and Oamaru have commenced working from home. All face-to-face service provision has temporarily ceased, including home visiting, office and school-based work. We do take very seriously our obligation to our communities and the whānau we serve, but the health, safety and well-being of our staff and community must always be our first priority.

All of our staff have access to mobile technology, and wherever possible will use a combination of phone, email and video calling to maintain regular contact with the many clients and whānau we support. We understand the fundamental importance of staying connected and will continue to work purposefully in this way until the current restrictions are lifted by the government, which at this stage will be at least the next 3 days to midnight Friday, 20 August. Our 0800FAMCARE number will be functioning in the meantime, and any messages left will be accessed and forwarded on to the relevant people.

We will continue to post updates on Facebook to keep you informed, and will also post regular resources and tips to help support clients and whānau in managing what will no doubt be a very challenging time.

If you have any questions at all about how these changes might affect you please don't hesitate to contact us.

Take care and stay safe.
